Flat HCPV lenses

Flat HCPV Lenses

Microsharp thin film Fresnel lenses are an attractive alternative to hot embossed or injection molded lenses in High Concentration Photovoltaic (HCPV) applications, offering the following benefits...

  • Continuous high speed production process
  • Consistent and precise structure replication
  • High optical efficiency
  • Low volume manufacturing cost
  • Low development and tooling cost
  • Lens sizes from 5mm - 400mm
  • Available in 'parquets up to 1m wide

Lens Construction

The Fresnel lens structure is produced onto the surface of a PMMA film of around 250 microns.

The film is then bonded to the underside of a supporting PMMA sheet of between 3 - 5 mm

An anti-reflective, protective hard coat is then added to the top surface
