Flat HCPV Lenses
Microsharp thin film Fresnel lenses are an attractive alternative to hot embossed or injection molded lenses in High Concentration Photovoltaic (HCPV) applications, offering the following benefits...
- Continuous high speed production process
- Consistent and precise structure replication
- High optical efficiency
- Low volume manufacturing cost
- Low development and tooling cost
- Lens sizes from 5mm - 400mm
- Available in 'parquets up to 1m wide
Lens Construction
The Fresnel lens structure is produced onto the surface of a PMMA film of around 250 microns.
The film is then bonded to the underside of a supporting PMMA sheet of between 3 - 5 mm
An anti-reflective, protective hard coat is then added to the top surface
Hard coat
PMMA sheet - 2-5 mm
PMMA film, 250 microns
Fresnel structure - 35 microns
